Design firms face risk every day. The current shifting environment has created the need for some new tactics and has made some risk management fundamentals more important than ever.
The definition of risk for design professionals, a breakdown of the true cost of professional liability claims, and an examination of the evolutionary standard of care set the stage for the balance of the program. The workshop reemphasizes key risk management basics and promotes new tactics in contracts, post-COVID design issues, effective remote team management, and communication/documentation, and project delivery.
- Understand the nature of risk and the challenge of fulfilling professional obligations under changing circumstances
- Examine the evolving Standard of Care, schedule obligations, rights, and responsibilities, and project design changes in a post-COVID world.
- Gain proven strategies and new tools to manage the emerging risks presented by working outside the office, managing remote teams, and required technology
- Discuss project delivery realities of work stoppages/delays/restarts, site access restrictions, safety of field employees, processing payment certifications, quality management, and coordination
Owners, Principals, Risk Managers, General Counsel, Contract Managers, and Project Managers.
